Suffolk Humane Hosts Pet Pantry
Suffolk, Virginia-September 23, 2017 –In these challenging economic times, many people are finding it hard to feed their families, including their four-legged family members. To help these families and their pets, Suffolk Humane is hosting a pet pantry at 10:00 am – 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 23 for the first time at their new location, 412 Kings Fork Rd., Suffolk, VA. SHS members will provide food and other pet items to individuals as long as supplies last during those hours, first come, first served. Anyone wishing to donate food or other items can bring their donations to the Kings Fork location. In addition to food, items such as leashes, toys, and cages or carriers are needed. Donations from private citizens as well as local businesses are welcome.
“We know that many people are having a challenging time making ends meet, and we want to help them provide for their pets,” said Rhonda Jones, events director of Suffolk Humane. “This pet pantry is the beginning of our newly re-organized community assistance program. We want to assist people so that they can keep their pets, and we hope this will help in a small way.”
