Learn about Spay and Neuter

The Suffolk Humane Society is dedicated to creating a compassionate community where every adoptable pet finds a loving home. We strive to end euthanasia as a form of population control through education, affordable spay/neuter services, and robust adoption and foster programs.

At Suffolk Humane Society, we dedicate ourselves to championing the rights and well-being of companion animals. Through our advocacy efforts, we ensure that all pets—whether in homes, shelters, or foster care—are treated with compassion and dignity. We work with Suffolk Animal Care Center, regularly provide community education, and have a strong presence in the community to ensure animals are protected from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Suffolk Humane Society regularly provides community education and has a strong presence in the community as the place to go if you have questions about animals.

Suffolk Animal Care Center has many different types of cats, dogs, bunnies, ferrets and other pets available who are waiting to find loving homes. For information on Suffolk Humane adoptable dogs, email us.

Foster parents play a crucial role in our mission, allowing us to maximize our life-saving efforts. Embracing the role of a pet foster parent is a gratifying experience that allows you to demonstrate your compassion towards animals while preparing them for their forever homes.

Suffolk Humane Society has joined forces with the Virginia Beach SPCA Neuter Scooter! Through this partnership, pet owners can have local access to low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations and select preventative medications.

Dedicated to Making a Difference

The Suffolk Humane Society was born in 2007 from a group of committed volunteers.

These Volunteers wanted to make a change and vowed to partner with the City of Suffolk’s Animal Care Center to get the word out about adoptable animal’s right here in our community. These volunteers also made a commitment to help people understand the importance of spaying and neutering our pets to try and control the vast pet overpopulation problem right here in Suffolk.
