Neuter Scooter
Suffolk Humane Society has joined forces with the Virginia Beach SPCA Neuter Scooter! Through this partnership, pet owners can have local access to low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations and select preventative medications.
Spay/Neuter Fees
Cat spay | $95 | Dog spay | $170 – $185 (depending on weight) |
Cat neuter | $75 | Dog neuter | $145 – $160 (depending on weight) |
An additional charge of $20 – $50 will be charged for animals that are pregnant, in heat, aggressive or that have cryptorchid (hidden) testicles. All pets must have a current rabies vaccination, or a rabies vaccine will be given at an additional cost. Feral cats are welcome, but must test negative for FeLV/FIV.

Other Services & Vaccines
The Neuter Scooter also provides:
- Microchipping & registration
- Heartworm testing
- FeLV/FIV testing
- Heartworm preventative*
- Flea preventative
The vaccine clinic will be 11am – 12pm, with a prompt close time at 12pm. Patients will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Any animal that is not aboard the Neuter Scooter by 12pm will need to come back on the next available date.
There will be a $12.00 Veterinary Exam Fee, per animal, associated with any service performed on the Neuter Scooter. Click here for a full price list.
*Heartworm Prevention is only able to be sold if the patient has been examined by a Virginia Beach SPCA, or VBSPCA Neuter Scooter Veterinarian within the past 12 months. If the pet does not meet this requirement then the client may bring the animal to the Neuter Scooter during Vaccine Clinic hours for a physical exam. The pet must also have proof of a negative Heartworm Test within the past 12 months.
