SeniorS for SeniorS - Suffolk Humane Society

Seniors for Seniors

The SeniorS for SeniorS Program is a heartwarming initiative designed to facilitate the adoption of senior pets from our organization by senior citizens in the community. Recognizing the immense joy and companionship that older animals can bring to the lives of seniors, our program not only encourages but actively supports the adoption of senior pets. To make this transition smoother, we offer assistance in providing necessary food and supplies for these adopted senior pets. Furthermore, participating veterinary clinics extend a considerate 10% discount on all visits for seniors who have welcomed a senior pet into their homes through our program. This initiative aims to create a win-win situation, giving senior pets loving homes while enriching the lives of senior citizens through the joy and comfort of animal companionship.

Trained to provide emotional support, therapy dogs contribute to the well-being of individuals facing physical or emotional challenges. These programs harness the unique bond between humans and animals, promoting mental health and community connectedness.
