Join us for a doggone fun day to raise money for the animals! Our 3rd Annual Mutt Strut will take place on September 19th from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Sleepy Hole Park in Suffolk, VA.

The event will include a pledge walk, dog demonstrations, pet health screenings, canine games and contests, rescue groups, children's activities, entertainment, silent auction, prizes, food, and vendors! More than 4,000 animal lovers and supporters made it out to last year's Mutt Strut and we are hoping to have even more make it this year!

If you would like to help raise money by participating in the pledge walk, you can register online by clicking here and then clicking on the orange "Get Started" button. Registration is $15 with a suggested $50 minimum in collected pledges due the day of the event.

You can earn various prizes for your fundraising efforts! You must collect pledges of $50 or more to receive an exclusive event t-shirt (while supplies last and only one shirt per registrant). The top fundraiser will have their pet featured as the spokes dog or spokes cat for next year's event!

You don't need to even have a dog to participate in the Mutt Strut. You can still register and walk in honor of your cat or sponsor one of your friends as they walk in the festival. There are a number of different ways to have fun and offer your support. For more participation options, click here.

Below are a few helpful hints for getting started:

Create a team - Not only will you have more fun, but you will have much more fundraising potential.
Create a fundraising goal for you or your team - The minimum suggested pledge is $50 per person, but the sky is the limit!
Create a web page - Personalize your web page to explain your cause and emotionally appeal to potential donors.
Involve as many people as possible - Remember, people can't help if you don't ask!

All pledges are due the day of the event; however, you can avoid the line and turn your pledges in early! To take advantage of our early bank day, take your pledges to Mike Duman Auto Sales, located at 2300 Godwin Blvd. in Suffolk, on Saturday, September 18th from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Once your pledges are turned in, you will receive your fundraising prizes!
